Our latest exhibition at Carlton Gallery is striking, the colours and bold artwork are not to be missed. When you look at Sarah’s gorgeous pieces you can almost smell the flowers.
Artist Sarah Ferris develops and draws by using traditional oil painting techniques and tonal style, applied using modern acrylic medium and mixed media. Exploring the depths of colour and the atmosphere that colour brings to a room are themes found throughout her work.
Sarah is inspired by the soothing and healing qualities of beauty of the natural world around her. Sarah’s work draws from time soaking in the sights and sound of nature. She loves to gather in the goodness, and then once home, paint about what she has seen and heard. To Sarah, this is like a conversation ebbing and flowing, back and forth, listening to the stories of nature and then retelling the stories through paint, passing them along to the viewer, and then going back to hear more.
Exhibition is open from the 14th August to 10th September.
