Val Tubman has studied with many professional artists, tutored art for 40 years and won 70 awards for her art.
After a lifetime of painting, commencing originally as an airbrush artist for Christopher Bede Studios, Val reflects on her many years of observing nature and all its diversity. “The vibrant colours and forms of our beautiful country have given me so much inspiration for the last sixty plus years,” says Val.
Over this time Val has won many awards, judged exhibitions, conducted workshops held numerous solo exhibitions and entered many competitions all over the country. Her work has been featured in many publications including the Australian Artist Magazine.
“The Athenree Homestead Mural here in Katikati has been my largest work and the first acrylic painting I had ever attempted,” says Val.
Her exhibition at Carlton Gallery covers a variety of different techniques and subjects using Watercolour, Oil, Acrylic and Pastel which she trusts will be enjoyed by viewers.
