Read a little information about of artists in exhibition!
Krystal Lynn is a self-taught artist based in the harbourside village of Athenree. She works mainly in pen, creating detailed drawings of characterful birds, with a quirky twist. She finds inspiration in the wildlife around her, and her wildflower-filled garden. Krystal also enjoys painting floral still life, raranga (weaving with flax), textile painting, and has recently begun lino printing.
Pete Moss is a Tauranga based artist. He uses a variety of mediums including acrylic and oil paint, inks and resin. Pete loves to paint crosses which represent redemption, freedom, and hope. A cross is a positive form and to many (including Pete)
holds significant meaning.
Christine Cousineau – ceramic art is primarily about aesthetics. She has always had a ruling passion to make bottles and figurative sculptures. The tableware often reflects a sense of old and faded, as the sculptures express a wide range of emotions which vary from pain to playfulness. Spontaneity, imperfection, and organic forms are some qualities that best describe her work.
Teresa Smith – the love of knitting has always been Teresa’s passion. Knitted Children’s garments – from knitted matinee jackets; cardigans; dresses; hats; bootees; socks; toys; cuddle rugs to ringing balls,
you will find the right present for your little one. Colourful Cushions for all are also her passion – whether it be animals or cartoon characters – there will be a cushion that is right for you.
Ally Butler –the owner and creator at My Little Projects, and the face behind the products. My Little Projects is a small New Zealand business creating fun, affordable, and easy to wear jewellery. They create in silver, stainless steel, with a splash of bronze and gold plating. In their product lines you will find earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and key rings using a lot of glass domes, crystals, tassels and beautiful charms and beads.
Don’t miss your opportunity to give one-of-a-kind gifts this Christmas!
Katikati Open Air Art and the Carlton Gallery would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
