The Carlton Gallery currently holds two different worlds, the exhibition itself is the product of
a collaboration between abstract painter Rolph Hediger and fashion designer Anastasia
Rickard of Natura Aura. Each one of the three garments is the result of their fusion and
inspired by the seasons.
The dye in the garments is the mark of Rolph, maker of the completely biodegradable and
safe for consumption paint, handmade from common household materials.
Rolph draws his paintings from interests in medieval art, traditional Christian iconography,
and impressionism. Emulating his discoveries on the interactions between outsider and folk
art.
The design of the garment is the work of Anastasia, co-founder and designer of Natura Aura,
A high-end fashion label .combining quality, luxury and comfort with New Zealand-made,
nature inspired clothing and accessories
Anastasia has always been interested in science and fashion and felt she wanted to take a
less traditional approach to demonstrate the importance of science, culture and fashion
within our society.
