ROLE: Arts Coordinator                                           

 

Responsible To:      Katch Katikati Promotions Manager

 

Job Summary and Purpose:     To oversee the daily operations of Katikati Open Air Art.  To create and maintain a professional operation.  This role is the first impression of the organisation and must reflect the culture of the organisation and operate at a very professional level.  It is to build on the reputation of Katikati Open Air Art and to build the brand of NZ Mural Town.

 

Parameters of Role:

  • Part time role of 20 hours a week, with potential to increase to up to 30 hours a week, for a 12 month fixed term.
  • Location of work will be based at the Arts Junction, 36 Main Road, Katikati.
  • Hours of work can have some flexibility however will include some weekend and evening work.

  • Local community and community groups
  • Local, regional and national artists and art organisations

 

 

Key objectives:

  • To manage the Carlton Gallery. This includes promotions, seek artists for exhibitions, manage bookings, oversee the set up and pack down of exhibitions, social media and website management, basic accounting procedures.
  • To manage the retail space. This includes stock takes and stock management, keeping the shop well-presented and marketed.
  • Grant writing, funding accountability and corporate sponsorship. This includes completing grants for operational costs and / or projects, completing accountability reports as required. Building relationships for corporate sponsorship support.
  • Management of social media, press releases, posters, flyers, etc.  A creative flair would be required.
  • Daily account progressing, including processing invoices for payment, coding in Xero, reporting on monthly results, writing budgets.
  • Relationship building, this includes representing the organization at meetings.
  • General office duties. This includes a monthly report to the board.
  • In general support to the organisation
  • And any other duties that may be requested by management
